Jessie J
Jessica Ellen Cornish is an English artist and songwriter, who goes by the stage name Jessie J. The unique music style that Jessie performs which blends soul, pop, electropop and hip-hop has brought her recognition at a young age. Jessie has also won numerous awards and nominations, such as the 2011 'Critics Choice Brit Awards', and the BBC's Sound of 2011.' Her career began at the young age of 11 when she was cast in "Whistle Down the Wind,' a musical that was written by English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. She later joined the 'National Youth Musical Theater which was also in the theater's production of The Late Sleepers which was first performed in 2002. The album she released her debut "Who You Are" was released in February 2011. It was her biggest hit that year. In the UK in particular the album sold 105,000 copies, whereas in the US it sold 34,000. It debuted at number 2 among the UK Albums Chart and number 11 on the US Billboard 200. Jessie has also earned a reputation for her charitable work and is involved in charities like 'Children in Need,' and "Comic Relief."
